Brutus
Manx (MAN n 09 51),
born 24 April 1999 - died 2009

Brutus is born at the same Heikkilä's crab-farm as Borisand Doris and they are probably somewhat related. Both Brutus and Boris have totally tailless mothers and in that farm they have tailless or half-tailed kittens every year. So Brutus is originally an ordinary housecat, although without a tail. Brutus had one tailless brother, Bill, and we wanted to take them both. Unfortunately Bill died accidentally just before we went to get them.

When Brutus was growing up, all the time we waited to see if he will look like a manx or not. Just after his 10-month birthday Brutus entered a cat show in novice-class and was accepted as manx in 5.3.2000 in Järvenpää. After that he has been shown a couple of times and he has got his certificate every time.

Like a genuine manx, Brutus is quite short and heavily build. He is black and white, with only little bit of white. Brutus is a real trouble-maker, whose main hobby is to force his way through to places he is not supposed to go at all. Luckily he is a very kind and friendly cat and you can never be angry with what he has done again. Brutus has the funny way of jumping around like a bunny, just like a real manx should do.

Brutus got kidney failure and was put to sleep 2009.
